McGrane Exceptional on the Track, in the Classroom
TACOMA, Wash. – Despite the fact that her collegiate athletic career recently ended with an 11th place finish at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in the heptathlon, Caitlin McGrane’s incredible athletic and academic abilities continue to earn her honors. McGrane was a first team selection on the District 8 Academic Team.
In addition to being named an ESPN Academic All-District selection, McGrane’s outstanding athletic and academic performances also earned her the Roberta Wilson Award given to a female Puget Sound student-athlete who best exemplifies scholarship, skill and determination. McGrane certainly earned the award in the classroom, posting a 3.76 cumulative GPA. McGrane was a Puget Sound Scholar-Athlete, as well as a four time dean’s list recipient. Her future plans include law school.
McGrane concludes her four-year career as one of the best track and field athletes to ever wear the maroon and white. She has won three straight Northwest Conference heptathlon titles, posting the best score in the nation this year. In addition, McGrane has made three consecutive trips to the track and field national championships.
