Reynolds Takes Ninth In Competitive 5K Field at UW Invite

SEATTLE, Wash. - Racing against a very elite field, senior Francis Reynolds (Palo Alto, Calif.) held his own in the 5000m run at the UW Invitational on Friday night at Dempsey Indoor in Seattle, Wash.

While the race was won by 2008 Olympian Billy Nelson, competing for the Oregon Track Club, with a time of 14:00.93.  Jordan Swarthout of host Washington was the top finishing collegiate runner with a time of 14:40.64 and Reynolds was about 30 seconds back, taking ninth with a time of 15:09.50.  He finished ahead of eight Division I runners and two runners for University of British Columbia.

Reynolds and the rest of the Loggers will be back in action on Feb. 5 when they travel to the Gem State to participate in the Vandal Invitational, hosted by University of Idaho.
