PARKLAND, Wash. – The outdoor season continued this weekend as the Puget Sound track & field teams competed at the PLU Invitational. Several more NWC marks were achieved.
Andrea Leiken recorded a pair of NWC qualifying times and personal-bests in the 100m and 200m. Leiken won both events with a 12.84 in the 100m and a 26.13 in the 200m. Alicia Burns took third in the 800m and qualified for the conference meet with a 2:24.00.
Wiley Putnam led the Loggers on the track as he achieved his NWC qualifying time after narrowly missing the cut a week ago. Putnam took second in the 400m 51.07.
Josh Seekatz also recorded a pair of NWC qualifying times in the 5000m and the steeplechase. Matt Klein also had an NWC qualifying time in the 5k while Justin Higa qualified for the conference meet in the steeplechase.
Maya Heck tied for first in the pole vault as she cleared 9-feet, 5.75-inches. Maggie Klee won the hammer for the Logger women with a toss of 145-feet, 6-inches.
Both Logger relays for the men took second in the meet. The men's 4x100m finished at 45.44 while the 4x400m finished with a time of 3:28.61.
The Loggers will head down to southern California for the Redlands Invitational next week while the decathletes will compete at the Pacific Invitational.
