Cerne, Rowe Lead Loggers At Luau Invite

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Puget Sound track & field teams competed for the final time before the NWC Championships at the Luau Invitational on Saturday. Maggie Rowe was the lone event winner for the women while the men's 4x400m relay team won one of two events for the men.

Rowe took the title in the high jump as she cleared 4-feet, 9.75 inches on her very first attempt. Molly Bradbury finished near the top in second place of the 5000m run with a time of 19:38.25. Karina Harper also finished second in the 400m hurdles with a 1:10.65.

On the men's side, Joe Cerne took the event win in the pole valut. Fresh off his NWC title in the decathlon earlier this week, Cerne cleared 13-feet, 6.25-inches to capture the win.

The Loggers will take the next week to prepare for the NWC Championships, which will be hosted by Pacific Lutheran next weekend Apr. 20-21.
