Men's and women's track teams in 8th after first day of NWC Championship

TACOMA, Washington – After the first day of competition, the men's and women's outdoor track & field teams are both in eighth place in the Northwest Conference Championships. The meet, hosted by Whitworth began on Friday and will finish on Saturday.

Results

On the men's side, Andrew Langtry placed ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase, while Liam Monaghan finished 12th. In the finals of the long jump, Kai Moya finished seventh, while Steven Branham was 14th. Miles Carlson advanced to the finals in the 100-meter dash, while Isaac Fournier advanced in the 800-meter run. Matt Wells had the fastest time in the preliminaries for the 100-meter hurdles.

For the women, Hannah Eshelman finished fifth in the 3000-metere steeplechase (12:25.45). Logan Bays and Anna Joseph advanced to the finals of the 100-meter and 200-meter dash. Emery Bradlina had the fastest time in the preliminaries of the 800-meter run, advancing to the final along with Alison Wise.

Puget Sound will wrap up competition in the NWC Championships on Saturday, April 22. Action begins at 10:30 a.m.
