TACOMA, Washington – Sophomore Emery Bradlina qualified for the 2017 NCAA D-III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the NCAA recently announced. Bradlina will race for a national title in the 800-m at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Preliminaries are Friday, May 26, and finals are scheduled for Saturday, May 27.
Bradlina achieved her qualifying time (2:11.88) during the Ken Shannon Invitational, May 6. The Boulder, Colorado, native's mark in the 800-m ranks No. 3 on Puget Sound's all-time list. Her time also ranks No. 22 in the nation this season.
Bradlina opened the outdoor season by placing third in the 800-m during the Ed Boitano Invitational (March 4), and she placed second in the event during both the Shotwell Invitational (April 1) and the Northwest Conference Championships (April 21-22). In between then, she won the 800-m during the Pacific Luau Invitational (April 15). Bradlina's national-qualifying time was the second-best mark during the Ken Shannon Invitational.
