Women second, men third in Peyton Scoring Meet

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's track & field team placed second out of seven teams, and the men finished third out of eight, in the Peyton Scoring Meet hosted by the Loggers Saturday. 

Results

The Logger women totaled 121 points, and finished behind just Pacific (124). The Logger men came away with 67 points – and St. Martin's won as a team with 128 points.

Emery Bradlina won both the women's 400-m dash (1:00.55) and the 800-m (2:21.97) for the Loggers. Samantha Schaffer won the women's 1,500-m run (4:54.86), and was followed by Rachael Metzler (5:01.58), Terra Wildon (5:04.49), and Abagail Dalke (5:18.50).

Schaffer was also victorious in the 5,000-m run, crossing the finish line in 18:12.77. Hannah Eshelman placed second in the 3,000-m steeplechase with a time of 12:21.21.

The Logger women won the 4x400-m relay thanks to the efforts of Emma Hatton, Alison Wise, Wildon, and Bradlina. The group timed in at 4:15.90.

In men's competition, Liam Monaghan won the 3,000-m steeplechase with a time of 10:16.45. He also placed second in the 5,000-m run by crossing the finish line in 16:17.47.

Isaac Fournier was second in the 1,500-m run by finishing in 4:09.89.

The Loggers host again Saturday, March 31, for the JD Shotwell Invitational.
