Puget Sound's last home meet of the season is its largest

TACOMA, Washington – The final home meet of the season is poised to be a big one as the Puget Sound track & field teams host the JD Shotwell Invitational, Saturday, March 31. The first event is scheduled for 10 a.m.

The competition

Puget Sound welcomes 10 collegiate teams from: Alaska-Fairbanks, Central Washington, Everett Community College, Evergreen State, Green River College, Olympic College, Pacific Lutheran, St. Martin's, Spokane Community College, Western Washington, and Whitworth. Several clubs and unattached athletes will also partake in the JD Shotwell Invtiational.

 

Logger of the Week

Junior Emery Bradlina was named the Logger of the Week after winning three races in the Peyton Scoring Meet last week. Click HERE to learn more.

 

She's going the distance

Samantha Schaffer won two women's events during the Peyton Scoring Meet last week. She finished the 1,500-m run in 4:54.86, and crossed the finish line in the 5,000-m run in 18:12.77.

 

Not challenge too steep

Liam Monaghan won the men's 3,000-m during the Peyton Scoring Meet, timing in at 10:16.45. He was also second in the steeplechase during the Pacific Lutheran Open (March 10), and he won the event in the Ed Boitano Invitational (March 3).
