PARKLAND, Washington - Puget Sound freshman runner Colin Monaghan won the Northwest Conference title in the mean 10,000-m run during the first day of the NWC Championships Friday. Pacific Lutheran is hosting the two-day event.
Monaghan crossed the finish line in 31:32.06, beating out the second-place runner by more than seven seconds.
Monaghan was named the 2018 NWC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year after winning the conference title. He also earned a USTFCCCA All-West Region nod, and he competed for a NCAA D-III title in Wiscosnin.
