TACOMA, Wash. – An 11-0 run to start the second half was the spark the Puget Sound women's basketball team was looking for in a 64-50 win over Pacific Lutheran on Tuesday. Kelsey McKinnis scored 18 points to lead the Loggers (12-10, 8-5 NWC) to the win.

The Loggers forced 23 turnovers with an active pressure defense that also keyed the second half outburst. The first half was a tight battle with PLU (7-15, 4-9 NWC) leading most of the way. With just under five minutes left, the Loggers knotted up the game at 25-25.

After a few lead changes, Lindsay Layland knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Loggers a 33-31 with 42 seconds left. The Loggers would take that lead into halftime.

Out of the break, the Loggers caught fire. They rattled off an 11-0 run behind McKinnis and Jocelyn Riordan. Riordan added 14 points to the Logger cause.

Samantha Potter led the Lutes with 16 points and 13 rebounds while Katelyn Smith added 12 points. However, the Lutes couldn't overcome a nine turnover difference between them and the home team.

The Loggers are back in Memorial Fieldhouse on Friday for Senior Day against George Fox at 6 p.m.
