Second Half Run Deals Loggers A Loss To George Fox

TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound women's basketball team fell 77-56 to third-ranked George Fox in its home finale on Friday. The Loggers (12-11, 8-6 NWC) played the Bruins (22-0, 13-0 NWC) tough early but the Bruins went on a run to come away with the win.

At the 10 minute mark, the Loggers had the game tied at 18-18 after Erin Stumbaugh knocked down a pair of free throws. The Bruins proceeded to go on a 9-1 run to break away from the Loggers.

Jami Roos fueled the first half effort with 10 of her 13 points coming in the opening half. The Bruins opened up a double digit lead in the first half before Amanda Forshay's jumper slashed the lead to 37-28. Roos's free throw pushed the lead back to 10 for the Bruins at halftime.

The Bruins opened the half on a 6-0 run to open the lead to 44-28 and the Loggers would not get closer than 14 the rest of the way.

Senior Jocelyn Riordan led the Loggers on Senior Night with 12 points while Forshay finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Five Bruins scored in double digits, including Arianna Mohsenian with 14 points and seven boards. Keisha Gordon added 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Loggers hit the road next week when they wrap up the season at Linfield and Lewis & Clark.
