TACOMA, Washington – Alexis Noren scored a game-high 19 points and Emily Sheldon recorded her third double-double of the season as the Puget Sound women's basketball team dominated Linfield, 77-54, in Memorial Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Puget Sound's 23-point win is its largest margin of victory over a Northwest Conference opponent since the Loggers beat the Wildcats, 88-55, on Jan. 17, 2015, in Memorial Fieldhouse.
Noren also tied her season-high with six assists and added eight rebounds. Sheldon notched her double-double before the fourth quarter as she finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Allie Wyszynski scored 11 points in the winning effort for the Loggers (9-6, 4-2 NWC). Like Noren, Mikaela Limper also tied her season-high for assists in a game with six.
Puget Sound held the Wildcats (8-7, 1-5 NWC) to 28 percent shooting from the floor and forced 26 Linfield turnovers. Puget Sound shot 44 percent from the floor, including a 50-percent output in the first half as the Loggers carried a 40-29 lead into halftime.
Puget Sound hits the road for a conference bout at Whitman on Friday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m.
