TACOMA, Washington – Following the program's first outright Northwest Conference regular-season title, the Puget Sound women's basketball team earned six league honors, the NWC announced on Wednesday.
Senior Alexis Noren and sophomore Samone Jackson were named to the All-NWC First Team, while sophomore Elizabeth Prewitt earned All-NWC Second Team. Jamie Lange is an All-NWC Second Team honoree, and the post player was also named the NWC Freshman of the Year.
Loree Payne earned NWC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. She led the Loggers to a 24-1 overall record, and a perfect 16-0 mark in the NWC.
Noren is a dynamic player on both ends of the floor. She ranks third in the NWC in both steals per game (2.7) and assists per game (3.6). She also averages 11.7 points and 6.2 rebounds.
Jackson is the league's second-leading scorer with 17.4 points per game, and she averages the most 3-point baskets per game in the NWC (3.2). Jackson set the Puget Sound single-season record with 79 made 3-pointers this season.
Prewitt is the NWC's fourth-leading scorer, averaging 14.9 points per game. Her 77.9 free-throw percentage is also fourth in the conference.
Lange is the league's second-leading rebounder with 9.0 boards per game. She also averaged 11.9 points, all in only 16.4 minutes per game. Lange finished the regular season with five consecutive double-doubles, including four games with at least 16 rebounds.
The nationally-ranked Loggers (No. 6/7) host Lewis & Clark for the first round of the NWC Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m.
