Loggers head to Portland for two non-conference games

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's basketball team heads to Portland, Oregon, for a pair of non-conference games this weekend. The Loggers tipoff at Multnomah Bible on Friday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m., and take on Warner Pacific Saturday,, Nov. 25, at 4 p.m.

Even start

The Loggers are 1-1 through the first two games of the season, both of which were part of the Doug McArthur Classic in Memorial Fieldhouse (Nov. 17-18). The Loggers lost to St. Martin's, 74-57, but bounced back with a 69-65 win over Claremont-M-S.

 

Triple double

Three Loggers are averaging double-digits in scoring in the early going this season. Claire Fitzgerald leads the way with 11.5 points per game, followed by Kristin Hafeman (10.5) and Mara Henderson (10.0).

 

Tough shots

The Logger defense is forcing the opposition to take tough shots so far, and Puget Sound hold a 35.6 opponent field-goal percentage.

 

Looking ahead

The Loggers open conference play at home against Whitworth (Dec. 1) and Whitman (Dec. 2).
