Loggers set for non-conference clash at Evergreen State

TACOMA, Washington – Following its first two Northwest Conference games of the season, the Puget Sound women's basketball team hops a short bus ride to Olympia, Washington, for a 7 p.m. non-conference tipoff at Evergreen St. on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

In the ranks

The Loggers are nationally ranked by both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D3hoops.com. The former has the Loggers at No. 22 in the country, and D3hoops.com pegs the Loggers at No. 21. 


Leaps and 'bounds

Puget Sound ranks as the second-best rebounding team the Northwest Conference, averaging 43.2 boards per game (Whitworth, 45.2). Jamie Lange is second in the NWC for rebounding with 10.0 rebounds per game. Meghan Hamel (6.3) and Elizabeth Prewitt (6.0) rank 11th and 12th, respectively.


Just Prew it

Elizabeth Prewitt was named the Logger Club Logger of the Week on Monday. She averaged 18.5 points and shot 70 percent from the floor against Whitworth and No. 8/9 Whitman.


Tough shots

The Loggers' defense is holding opponents to 37.6 percent shooting from the floor, which ranks third in the NWC.


Scouting Evergreen St. (3-2, 2-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference)

The Geoducks enter Wednesday's contest with a three-game winning streak, including a 65-53 triumph over Northwest Conference member Pacific. Cayla Jones leads the team in scoring with 17.0 points per game, followed by Jahpera McEachin with 13.6. Jones is also the team's leading rebounder with 7.0 boards per game. The Geoducks are shooting 39.4 percent from the field, and holding opponents to 34.4 percent.
