Daugherty ties 3-point record, but Loggers lose at Pacific

FOREST GROVE, OregonCassidy Daugherty tied the Puget Sound record for 3-pointers made in a game, but the Loggers lost at Pacific, 88-78, Friday night.

Daugherty made eight 3-pointers on her way to 26 points against the Boxers, tying Annie Pettigrew's program record set during the 1989-90 season against Whitman. Daugherty's 13 attempts from distance also tied a Logger record, initially achieved by Kilton Keaton vs. George Fox during the 2005-06 season.

Daugherty wasn't the only Logger to break into the Puget Sound record books Friday night. Jamie Lange shot 10-for-10 from the three-throw line, becoming the fourth Logger in program history to shoot 100 percent from the line in a game with a minimum of 10 attempts. Kelsey McKinninis, Claire Ely, and Alexis Noren (2x) are the other Loggers to achieve the feat.

Lange finished with 16 points and 19 rebounds for the Loggers (6-8, 1-4 NWC). She led Puget Sound to a 43-32 advantage on the boards over Pacific (3-10, 2-3 NWC). However, the Boxers shot 51.7 percent from the floor, whereas the Loggers shot 36.5 percent.

Puget Sound concludes its conference road trip with a 4 p.m. game at Linfield, Saturday, Jan. 13.
