Strong second half not enough, lacrosse falls to Boxers

TACOMA, Washington – Meghan Bacher notched two goals, but the Puget Sound lacrosse team fell to Pacific, 16-5, on Sunday afternoon.

Bacher led the Loggers (4-4, 2-2 NWC) with her two goals, while Ella Frazer, Roxanne Krietzman, and Ali Walker each chipped in a goal.

The Loggers opened the scoring, as Ali Walker put the ball away less than two minutes into the game. Pacific (4-4, 1-2 NWC) scored the next nine goals to take control of the game.

Puget Sound came out of halftime focused, and Bacher recorded both of her goals before Pacific could get on the board. After allowing just four goals in the half, the Loggers scored the final goal of the game.

Hailey Shoemaker led the Loggers with five groundballs, while Frazer had two draw controls. Frazer and Kathryn Hart each caused two turnovers. Ally Benko (3-4) took the loss between the pipes, making five saves in 60 minutes.

The Loggers will next welcome Linfield for a NWC match-up. The game, on Saturday, April 8, is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
