TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound lacrosse seniors Meghan Bacher and Elena Becker have been named to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday.
In the classroom, Bacher carries a 3.94 GPA while studying molecular and cellular biology. She has the highest grade point average among graduating Loggers. The senior from Carlsbad, California, led the lacrosse team this season in goals, with 26. She also had a team-high nine assists to total 35 points.
Becker holds a 3.80 grade point average while majoring in sociology and anthropology. She was also selected to be the student speaker at this year's commencement ceremony. The senior from Bellevue, Washington, helped anchor the Loggers' defense over the past four years. She led the squad in 2017 with 41 groundballs and 34 caused turnovers. Becker has been an All-Northwest Conference performer three different years, and was named to the All-NWC Second Team following the 2017 season.
Bacher and Becker are two of only three Northwest Conference Student-Athletes to earn All-District honors in the At-Large category on either the men's or women's side. Pacific Lutheran rower, Sydney Otey, was also named to the District 8 Team.
