Puget Sound drops season-opener against George Fox

TACOMA, Washington – Competing in its first game of the 2019 season, the Puget Sound lacrosse team was downed by Northwest Conference favorite George Fox, 18-2, in Baker Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Bruins are favored to win the 2019 NWC crown, as voted on by conference head coaches in a preseason poll.

Ali Walker and Hannah Nichols both scored goals for the Loggers. Walker took a pass from Jenna Kessner and attacked up the middle to find the back of the net midway through the first half. Three minutes before halftime, Nichols scored off an assist by Lauren Mastin.

Puget Sound is right back at home Monday, March 11, to host Ohio Wesleyan at 3 p.m.
