TACOMA, Wash. - Junior Sofia Lama (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Torrey Pines) scored five times and Ana Calciano (Farmington, Conn./Miss Porter's School) made 20 saves as the Puget Sound Loggers held off the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, 16-13, in a NCAA Division III West Region women's lacrosse match on Sunday in Tacoma, Wash.

A native of the Northwest, Katie came to Tacoma to play her collegiate lacrosse not necessarily for the athletic opportunity but also because of strong academics. An aspiring physician, she was impressed by the reputation of the biology department, as well as the small class sizes at Puget Sound.
