#4 Loggers Cruise Past Bruins, 4-0

TACOMA, Wash. - Junior Janece Levien (Beaverton, Ore.) scored a pair of goals to increase her season total to 17 as the fourth-ranked Puget Sound Loggers defeated the George Fox Bruins, 4-0, in a Northwest Conference women's soccer game on Saturday afternoon on Peyton Field at Baker Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.

The Loggers (12-1-0, 10-0-0 NWC) got on the board in the sixth minute when Levien powered a shot past GFU keeper Sally Page.  Fiona Gornick (Portland, Ore./Grant) made it 2-0 UPS in the 7th minute after firing in a beautiful shot from the upper right corner of the box that found it's way into the upper left corner of the goal.

In the second half, Levien scored again, firing in a free kick from about 40 yards out in the 75th minute that bounced off the right post and crossbar before settling in the net.  The Loggers final goal came at the feet of freshman Theresa Henle (Issaquah, Wash.) following a pass from Molly Winterrowd (Tigard, Ore./Tualatin) in the 89th minute.

Kallie Wolfer (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline) collected the shutout, making three saves as the Loggers have now not allowed a goal in the last 635:38 they have played.

The Loggers return to action next Saturday when they play host to Whitman on East Athletic Field.

A two-time Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Janece is set to leave the women's soccer program as perhaps the best to ever wear the maroon and white. "I chose Puget Sound because I wanted to go to a small school where I could focus on school and have soccer be a priority, but not my life, in case of injury. The people here are very friendly and the campus is beautiful."
