#6 Loggers Earn First Round Bye

INDIANAPOLIS - After winning a seventh-straight Northwest Conference title and cruising through the NWC season with an unblemished 16-0-0 record, the Puget Sound Loggers have been awarded a first-round bye in the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. The Loggers will play host to the winner of St. Scholastica and Carleton on Sunday on East Athletic Field.

The Loggers earned one of three byes in the 61-team field, with the other two going to Williams and Wesleyan. This year marks the third straight season the Loggers will host an NCAA tournament match, after hosting the first and second rounds in both 2006 and 2007.

St. Scholastica and Carleton will play on Thursday in Northfield, Minn. for the right to travel to Tacoma for Sunday's second-round match against the Loggers.

Tickets for Sunday's match are $6 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students with ID and $2 for children ages 3-12.  Children under two will be admitted at no charge and the gate will open at Noon on Sunday.  Per NCAA rules, no team will be afforded a pass list and no UPS or Northwest Conference passes will be accepted.
