Hanson Wins 200th Game As #2 Loggers Blank 'Cats, 3-0

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - The architect of one of the most successful women's soccer programs in the Pacific Northwest, Puget Sound Logger head coach Randy Hanson collected his 200th career victory on Saturday afternoon as his second-ranked Puget Sound Loggers defeated the Linfield Wildcats, 3-0, in a Northwest Conference women's soccer match in McMinnville, Ore.

The Loggers took the lead just 2:14 into the game as Theresa Henle (Issaquah, Wash.) scored her second goal of the season off an assist from Kelly Andersen (Centennial, Colo./Littleton) to give Puget Sound the early 1-0 lead.  Before the Wildcats even had a chance to get even, the Loggers made it 2-0 at the 4:35 mark when Janece Levien (Beaverton, Ore.) fed in a pass to Jenny Moore (Kent, Wash./Kentwood) who put the ball past Linfield keeper Kelsey Hasselblad.

Puget Sound made it 3-0 shortly before halftime as Maddy Fisk (Corvallis, Ore.) was assisted by Christine Isabella (Salt Lake City, Utah/Winthrop) for her fifth goal of the season.  Puget Sound outshot the host Wildcats, 14-0, in the first half as they built the large lead.

In the second half, the Loggers continued to put offensive pressure on the 'Cats, unleashing 12 shots and forcing Hasselblad to make eight second-half saves.  Logger keeper Kallie Wolfer (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline) made four saves on five Linfield shots in the final 45 minutes to collect the shutout.

Puget Sound will look to stay perfect in NWC play on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Forest Grove, Ore. to take on Pacific, beginning at Noon at Lincoln Park Stadium.
