11 In A Row! Loggers Clinch Another NWC Title

TACOMA, Wash. – The streak continues for the Puget Sound women's soccer team. A 4-0 win today over visiting Pacific clinched an 11th consecutive Northwest Conference title for the Loggers, extending the longest active title streak in Division III women's soccer.

The Loggers clinched the outright NWC title and automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament with the win today for an incredible 11th straight year. They will find out who and where they play on Monday at 10:30 a.m. (PT).

Haley Rosenberg opened the scoring at the 37:10 mark with an unassisted goal. She settled a deflected pass near the corner of the penalty box, dribbled toward the middle of the field and struck a shot perfectly into the upper left corner of the net from 20 yards out.

The Loggers padded their lead just after halftime in the 49th minute. Jordyn McLuen's cross found the feet of Robin Vieira in the box. Vieira tapped it up to Theresa Henle, who struck it over the keeper from 18 yards out for a 2-0 Logger lead. It was Henle's seventh goal of the season.

Rosenberg scored her second goal of the match in the 62nd minute when she drove home a rebound off of Lauren Hamilton's shot that was blocked in the box. Henle equaled Rosenberg's goal total when she also put in a rebound in the 84th minute.

The stingy Logger defense allowed just three shots in the match. Casey Thayer was not forced to make a save in the match to record the shutout. Brittany Hartmann made six saves for the Boxers (8-8-4, 6-8-2 NWC).
