KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Three Puget Sound women's soccer players were selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-West Region Third Team recently. Senior Theresa Henle, junior Kylie Beeson and freshman Amalia Acorda-Fey all earned the nod.
Henle was the Loggers' leading scorer this year and the lone senior on the roster. She scored nine goals and dished out five assists for a team-leading 23 points. Five of her goals stood up as game-winners.
A young Loggers' squad saw some of its youth honored in Acorda-Fey and Beeson. Both were a big presence in the Logger midfield. Beeson scored three goals but all three came in crucial moments as they all stood as game-winners. She also led the Northwest Conference with eight assists.
Acorda-Fey scored four of her seven goals in the first four matches of the season to burst on to the scene as a freshman. She scored multiple goals in a match twice during the season.
Henle and Beeson garnered First Team All-NWC honors earlier this year while Acorda-Fey earned a spot on the Second Team. All three played crucial roles in leading the Loggers to an 11th consecutive NWC title despite having just one senior on the roster. Beeson and Acorda-Fey will look to lead the Loggers to a 12th consecutive title next year.
