TACOMA, Washington - The Puget Sound women's soccer team grabbed the No. 7 spot in this week's United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll.
The Loggers went to California for their first two games of the year, taking on Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-M-S. They came out on top against CMS, but suffered a 2-0 loss against Pomona-Pitzer. Both Sothern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams are also ranked regionally: CMS is No. 10, Pomona-Pitzer is No. 3.
The Puget Sound women wrapped up non-conference play at home with a 0-0 tie against Eastern Oregon, and a 3-0 win against Evergreen State.
Goalkeeper Jamie Lange earned Northwest Conference Women's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week (defense) after recording 12 saves last week.
The Loggers kickoff conference play this weekend with back-to-back home games vs. Linfield and George Fox, starting on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 12 p.m.
