Women's soccer back in regional rankings

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's soccer team earned four points in the Northwest Conference standings following a weekend at the Whits, and the Loggers jumped back into the United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll at No. 10 this week.

Puget Sound tied Whitworth, 2-2, on Sept. 30. It was the first time in six conference  games this season that the Pirates did not win. The following day, the Loggers easily handled Whitman, 3-1. 

Tayla MacPherson was named the Logger of the Week after notching a goal and two assists between both games. She ranks second in the NWC 10 points. Genevieve Cheatham netted two goals for the Loggers.

Puget Sound returns home on Saturday, Oct. 7, for a 12 p.m. match against Willamette during Homecoming & Family Weekend.
