Morton's second half goal seals Loggers victory

NEWBERG, Oregon - The Puget Sound women's soccer team defeated George Fox on the road, 1-0, Sunday afternoon.

The Loggers out-shot the Bruins in the first half, 5-3, but failed to record a goal before halftime.

Puget Sound tallied four second half shots before finding the game-winner in the 72nd minute. Forward Lura Morton found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Gabbie Berg inside the box.

The Bruins recorded two shots after Morton's goal but was unsuccessful at finding the equalizer.

Goalkeeper Jamie Lange secured the Loggers win with five saves, two of which were in the second half.

The Loggers return home to host cross-town rival Pacific Lutheran, Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m.
