TACOMA, Washington – Jamie Lange is good. Like, really good. The Puget Sound women's soccer goalkeeper earned her fourth Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week (defense) honor, the league announced Monday.
Lange totaled 15 saves during the Loggers' wins over Whitworth and Whitman this weekend. She surrendered a penalty-kick goal during a 2-1 win over the Pirates (Oct. 28), which snapped Lange's shutout streak at 661 minutes.
The following day, Lange needed eight saves to shutout Whitman, 2-0. The Puget Sound defense has held the opposition scoreless in 12 games this season.
The Loggers allowed just two goals in nine October games, posting an 8-0-1 record during the month. Puget Sound is unbeaten in its last 11 games.
The Loggers are in second place in the NWC standings, trailing Pacific Lutheran by four points with two games remaining. Puget Sound next plays at Willamette on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 12 p.m.
