Working overtime

The Loggers won a pair of Northwest Conference road games in dramatic fashion this past weekend. Lura Morton scored the golden goal in double overtime for a 2-1 victory at Pacific (Sept. 28), and Gabbie Berg netted the game-winner for a 1-0 victory at George Fox (Sept. 30). Half of Puget Sound's 10 games this season have reached extra periods.

The Loggers' win at George Fox push Puget Sound's win streak to a season-high three games. The Lutes enter Wednesday's contest with five consecutive wins.

Conference landscape

Three points separates the top four teams in the NWC. Willamette is in first place with a 5-0-1 NWC record (16 points), and Pacific Lutheran has a 5-1 NWC record (15 points). Puget Sound and Whitworth are both 4-1-1 in the conference, good for 13 points.

Who will save your goal

Jamie Lange is proving that award-winning 2017 season was no fluke. After leading the NWC with 99 saves en route to being named the NWC Defensive Player of the Year last fall, Lange leads the NWC with 68 saves so far this fall. She has 22 more saves than the next NWC goalie.

Scouting Pacific Lutheran (6-2-2, 5-1 NWC)

Ellie Johnson leads the NWC in scoring with six goals, and Liz Griffith's three assists are tied for second in the conference. Defensively, Pacific Lutheran's 0.47 GAA is the second-lowest mark in the NWC.
