Loggers End Season With Defeat

TACOMA, Wash. - Playing with four freshman in the season finale, the Puget Sound Loggers bowed out of the 2009 season with an 8-1 loss to the Willamette Bearcats in a Northwest Conference women's tennis match on Saturday afternoon at the UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.

The Loggers's lone victory came in the number six singles position as freshman Jessica Gauger (Portland, Ore./Claremont-M-S) held off Willamette's Samantha Wong, 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).  Senior Alissa Wolf (Durango, Colo.) nearly collected the victory in her final collegiate match, falling 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 in the second singles position.

The Loggers finish the 2009 season with a record of 1-15 overall and 1-15 in NWC but will look to use the experience built this season in 2010.
