WALLA WALLA, Washington – Lisa Owen advanced to the Round of 16 during the Intercollegiate Tennis Association West Regionals hosted by Whitman.
Owen opened the Round of 64 by beating Willamette's Robin Pashek in two sets (6-1, 6-3). She also won her next match in two sets, topping Linfield's Sarah Sweet (6-2, 6-0). The Logger sophomore's run came to an end after a loss (6-2, 6-4) to Whitman's Anastasiya Redkina.
In doubles competition, Owen and Nicole Bouche teamed up to reach the quarterfinals. They first topped a George Fox duo, 8-5, and then beat a pair from Linfield, 8-1. A doubles team from Lewis & Clark kept Owen and Bouche from advancing past the quarterfinals.
