Women's tennis season begins Sunday, men compete Saturday

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's tennis spring season begins Sunday, Feb. 4, when the Loggers compete against Willamette in the Salem Tennis and Swim Club at 2 p.m. Meanwhile this weekend, the Logger men continue their season at Lewis & Clark Saturday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m.

 

Fall preparation

The Logger women competed in the 2017 Intercollegiate Tennis Association West Regionals (hosted by Whitman) in October 2017. Sophomore Lisa Owen advanced to the Round of 16 during the Intercollegiate Tennis Association West Regionals hosted by Whitman, and three other Loggers made it past Round 64 – click HERE for more details.

 

D-1 preparation

The Puget Sound men opened the 2018 season at NCAA D-I Portland State Jan. 26. Although the Loggers lost, 7-0, it marked the second time in as many years the Logger men have competed in an official match against a D-I program (Seattle University, 2017).

 

Looking ahead

The Logger men have their first home match of the season Feb. 18, when they host Spokane Falls Community College. The Logger women compete at crosstown rival Pacific Lutheran Friday, Feb 9.
