Owen and Bouche nearly lead Loggers to win over Whitworth

TACOMA, Washington – Lisa Owen and Nicole Bouche won in both singles and doubles competition, but the Puget Sound women's tennis team lost a Northwest Conference match at home against Whitworth, 5-4, Saturday evening.

The Loggers kept pace with the Pirates in singles matches, 3-3. However, Whitworth won two out of the three doubles matches.

Owen was victorious at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-1), and Bouche won at No. 2 singles (6-3, 6-4). The two teamed up for a 9-7 victory at No. 1 doubles. Bridget Myers won handedly at No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-3).

Lia Van Steeter and Alexis Choy almost pulled off a big victory at No. 3 doubles, but the Logger pair lost, 9-7.

Puget Sound continues its NWC schedule at home against Lewis & Clark, March 9.
