Blickenstaff's 16 Kills Leads Loggers To Victory

TACOMA, Wash. – Brynn Blickenstaff pounded 16 kills to lead the Puget Sound volleyball team to a 22-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-21 win over Whitman on Saturday. Blickenstaff hit .326 on the match to lead the Loggers (17-5, 9-5 NWC).

After falling in the first set, the Loggers sprinted away for dominating victories in sets two and three. The Loggers hit .242 in the second set while holding the Missionaries (3-14, 2-12 NWC) to .000 hitting.

The fourth set was much tighter with the lead changing hands multiple times, but the Loggers sprinted away at the end for the victory.

Julitte Witous led a quartet of Loggers in double digits in digs with 22 digs on the night and Jenni Brehove added 38 assists. Bre Boyce had 5 total blocks to led the Loggers in that category.

For the Misssionaries, Jillian Davis had a match-high 22 kills while Annie Sing tallied 24 digs.

The Loggers will finish the 2011 regular season on the road at George Fox and Willamette next weekend.
