Dig Pink night scheduled for Friday, Loggers home for two

TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound's annual Dig Pink volleyball game is Friday, Oct. 20, when the Loggers host George Fox at 7 p.m. in Memorial Fieldhouse. Puget Sound also hosts Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m.

Dig Pink

Memorial Fieldhouse will be decorated in pink to as part of a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee initiative for breast cancer awareness. Logger fans are encouraged to wear pink to Friday night's game.

 

So, we meet again

This weekend marks the Loggers' second contests this season against both the Bruins and the Boxers. Puget Sound topped George Fox, 3-0, on the road (Sept. 22), but lost at Pacific, 3-1 (Sept. 23).

 

Time to right the ship

The Loggers have lost three of their last four contests, all by a 3-0 margin. Puget Sound's lone win during that stretch was a 3-0 victory over Lewis & Clark.

 

NWC statistical ranks

Several Loggers are among Northwest Conference statistical leaders. Rita Dexter ranks fourth in hitting percentage (.262), and Rachael Garrison is fifth with 281 digs. Moira McVicar ranks fourth in the NWC with 8.75 assists per set. Melanie Siacotos is fifth in the NWC for blocks per set (0.92), and Katarina Moffett is also fifth for aces per set (0.38).

 

Scouting George Fox (6-8, 5-5 NWC)

The Bruins enter this weekend with three consecutive conference wins vs. Willamette, Lewis & Clark, and Pacific. Madison Ross leads the conference in service aces with 0.54 per set. Danyle Dupray has a team-high 157 kills, and Alyssa Burch leads the Bruins with 30 blocks.

 

Scouting Pacific (13-5, 6-4 NWC)

The Boxers have lost three of their last four games, with a 3-2 win over Whitman during that span. Karlee Duncan leads the NWC in kills per set (3.60), and she ranks fifth with 10 solo blocks. Anna Vanderweyst is the league-leader in digs with 403. Pacific leads the NWC in hitting percentage (.229) and digs (1,303).
