Volleyball aims to extend winning streak at Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound volleyball team puts its three-game winning streak to the test when it makes the short trip to Pacific Lutheran on Wednesday, Nov. 1, for a 7 p.m. match.

A turn for the better

Beginning at Whitman on Friday, Oct. 13, the Loggers sufferance three consecutive 3-0 losses. Since then, Puget Sound has pieced together three consecutive wins. The Loggers beat Pacific (3-1), Willamette (3-1), and Linfield (3-2) during the streak.


Dynamic duo

Senior Rita Dexter and freshman Melanie Siacotos have been dominant during the Loggers' three-game winning streak. Dexter is averaging 3.77 kills per set during the streak, and Siacotos is averaging 3.08. Siacotos put away a season-high 17 kills against Willamette (Oct. 27), and Dexter tied her career-high in kills with 19 in the same match.


Assistance from McVicar

Setter Moira McVicar has at least 42 assists in each of the Loggers' last three contests. She ranks fourth in the Northwest Conference for assists per set (9.21).


Scouting the Lutes (18-4, 12-2 NWC)

The first-place Lutes were ranked No. 25 in last week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25, but Pacific Lutheran fell out of the rankings following a 3-0 loss against Pacific (Oct. 27). Chloe Epker is fourth in the NWC with 3.16 kills per set, and Caylie Shiramizu is second with 5.53 digs per set.
