HANOVER, Ind. - Racing in below freezing temperatures, junior Francis Reynolds (Palo Alto, Calif.) ran his way to All-American honors, placing 21st at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday in Hanover, Ind.

In the first 1600 meters of the race, Reynolds broke his way up to the top fifth of the field and was just 4.5 seconds off the top pace.  Reynolds continued to push his way up the field over the eight-kilometer race, taking 21st with a time of 24:51.03, just under 30 seconds behind individual champion Peter Kosgei of Hamilton (24:22.03).  Cortland State won the team title with 80 points.

By finishing in the top 35, Reynolds becomes the first Logger runner to earn All-American honors since Frank Prince in 2004.  Behind Reynolds, the top Northwest Conference runner was Nicholas Gallagher of Whitworth, who took 103rd with a time of 25:37.52.
