SALEM, Ore. – The Puget Sound cross country teams set out on the trails at the Chuck Bowles Invitational on Saturday. Joshua Seekatz led the men's team to a tie for 12th-place and 11 Loggers ran a personal-best.
On the men's side, Seekatz led with a personal-best 25:57.89. Matt Klein finished just behind Seekatz in 59th at 26:08. 30-another personal-best. Justin Higa and Robert Snowden also achieved personal-bests with times of 27:17.27 and 27:21.08, respectively. Casey Wall rounded out the Loggers scoring with 27:34.63.
The men finished 12th as a team in a tie with Lewis & Clark. Pacific Lutheran and Whitman finished below the Loggers in 14th and 15th. Willamette was the highest finisher among NWC teams in fifth place.
The top-4 finishers in the women's race for the Loggers also ran PRs. Molly Bradbury led the way at 19:06.14. Carrie Keith ran a personal-best 19:28.04 and Laura Leach's 19:29.30 was also a personal-best. Kathryn Flyte wasn't far behind the previous two Loggers with personal-best 19:32.28. Alicia Burns rounded out the Loggers scoring with a 20:50.90.
The Loggers finished in 15th as a team – just in front of Central Washington. They were just three points behind Pacific Lutheran.
Next up, the Loggers head to Forest Gorve, Ore. for the NWC Preview Meet on Oct. 15.
