INDIANAPOLIS – Senior Matt Klein learned on Sunday that he has one more race to run. Klein was one of 56 individuals invited to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships in Terra Haute, Ind.
The NCAA field is comprised of 32, seven-runner teams and 56 individuals who are not a part of qualifying teams. The top two teams from each of the eight NCAA regionals earn an automatic berth to the national championship meet and 16 more teams earn at-large bids. The top-7 runners from non-qualifying teams at each regional are also selected.
Klein is enjoying a career-best year, including a top-10 finish at the NCAA West Region meet and a top-3 finish at the NWC Championships.
Klein and Justin Bigelow were also officially announced as All-Region performers with both finishing in the top-35 at the West Region meet last week.
Klein will run at 8 a.m. (PT) on Saturday as the Loggers lone representative at the championship meet.
