TACOMA, Washington – Neither of the two Loggers competed in collegiate cross country last year, but Puget Sound's Emery Bradlina and Colin Monaghan both began the 2018 cross country season by earning Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week honors.
Bradlina, who competed in the 2018 NCAA D-III Indoor Track & Field Championships, missed the 2017 cross country season to study abroad. During her first race back, Bradlina won the Puget Sound Invitational (Sept. 1) by timing in at 23:41.00, beating out 26 runners in the women's 6k.
Monaghan, a freshman, won the men's 8k in the Puget Sound Invitational with a time of 25:55.00. There were 44 runners in the men's race.
The Loggers return to running Sept. 15 in the Pacific Lutheran Invitational.
