LACEY, Wash.—The Puget Sound baseball team's series finale against Saint Martin's scheduled for Tuesday afternoon was cancelled due to wet playing conditions at Saints Field in Lacey, Wash.
With the amount of rain the field received over the last few days, both coaches deemed the field too wet for safe game play. The contest will not be made up.
Tuesday's game was originally scheduled to take place February 9, but that weekend's three-game series at Saint Martin's was rained out. The squads had previously made up two of those games, one on March 18 and one on April 9 – but will not play the series finale.
The Loggers now ride their six-game winning streak into the Northwest Conference series against Willamette this weekend. Puget Sound will host the second-place Bearcats on Logger Field with first pitch in the first game set for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26.
On Sunday, April 27, the Loggers will honor their seniors as they play their last two games at Logger Field. The Senior Day ceremony will take place during the break between the two games. First pitch of game one of the doubleheader is slated for 12:00 p.m. Sunday.
