LOS ANGELES, California – Jack Gries hit his first home run of the season, but that was seemingly the only thing that went right for the Puget Sound baseball team in a 19-2 loss at Occidental Sunday.
Gries hit a solo shot to lead off the sixth inning, marking his team-best 10th extra-base hit of the season. The Loggers got their first run of the game in the second inning when Jake Briscoe singled in Ricardo Barraza from third base. Barraza led off the inning with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt.
The Loggers next play at Cal Lutheran Monday, March 18, at 3 p.m.
