Clayton nominated for Cliff Harris Award

TACOMA, WashingtonJason Clayton has been nominated for the Cliff Harris Award (link), which "is presented to the top defensive player in the country representing Division II, III, and NAIA colleges and universities."

Clayton's sophomore year at the corner back position was a memorable one, as he led the Loggers with three interceptions He was also second on the team with 20 pass breakups and fourth in tackles with 47.

Clayton earned Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week (defense) following the Loggers' 14-13 win over Willamette (Oct. 28). Clayton kept nine points off the board by intercepting a pass in the end zone and blocking a short field-goal attempt.

Clayton, along with Zach Losack, Dustin Harrison, and Zackary Teats, was named to the All-Northwest Conference Second Team.
