Johnson earns second NWC Student-Athlete of the Week nod

TACOMA, Washington – AJ Johnson set a Puget Sound football single-season record, and matched a single-game record, to earn both Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week (offense) and Logger Club Logger of the Week.

Johnson totaled 247 receiving yards on 14 catches during the Loggers' season finale at George Fox (Nov. 10). He finished the season with 1,096 receiving yards, breaking Brennan Schon's program record 1,076 receiving yards (2015).

Johnson also totaled five touchdown catches against Bruins, which matches Adam Kniffin's 2010 single-game record for Puget Sound.

Johnson received the NWC weekly honor for the second time this season, and it's the eighth overall NWC Student-Athlete of the Week nod for Puget Sound this season. Murdock Rutledge received the honor twice, while Jewell Day, Collin Heimbach, Zackary Teats, and Alex Everett also earned NWC Student-Athlete of the Week.

Johnson was among five Loggers recently named to the All-NWC First Team, along with Todd Blakely, Jason Clayton, Jewell Day, and Teats.

Collin Heimbach, Zack Losack, and Rutledge were named to the All-NWC Second Team.
