Puget Sound hosts NWC Golf Championships this weekend

TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound hosts the Northwest Conference Golf Championships, April 21-22, at Oakbrook Golf Course in Lakewood, Washington.

Men's course

Men's golfer begin the front nine with a par-5, and end the front nine with a par-5. Whereas the front nine has two par-3 holes (No. 4, No. 6), the back nine has just one (No. 13). The total yardage is 6,532 and par of 71.


Women's course

Women's golfers also begin and end the front nine with par-5 holes. Both the front nine (No. 4, No. 6) and the back nine (No. 13, No. 16) have a couple of par-3 holes. The women will total 5,806 yards for a par of 72.


Last year's championships

Both the Logger men's and women's teams placed sixth in the 2017 NWC Championships. Among current Loggers who competed last year, Casey Weston was the top Puget Sound men's golfer (158, +14), and Emmi Modahl placed 23rd (172, +28) in women's competition. Pacific Lutheran hosted the 2017 Championships at Tacoma Country and Golf Club.


Last time out

The Puget Sound men placed sixth, and the Logger women finished eighth, in the NWC Spring Classic hosted by Whitworth at Hangman Valley Golf Club (April 7-8). Casey Weston tied for eighth overall for the Logger men, and Emmi Modahl finished 30th for the Logger women.
