TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team lost to Oglethorpe, 87-68 on Saturday night in the final day of the Doug McArthur Classic.
James Osorio finished with 19 points for Puget Sound (1-2), shooting 7-for-16 from the field.
In the first half, the Loggers shot 42.4 percent from the field. Late in the period, Puget Sound went on an 11-4 run capped off by an Erin Barber layup. Oglethrope (4-1) held the advantage at halftime, up 40-34.
Osioro put up 15 points in the second half and recorded four rebounds. The Loggers were also perfect in their free throw attempts in the period, going 11-for-11.
The Loggers bested the Stormy Petrels in rebounds (38-33). Puget Sound also scored 18 points off of second chance shots.
The Loggers look to bounce back as they head to Honolulu, Hawaii for the Surf's Up Classic. They face Luther on Friday, Nov. 28, and Cal Lutheran on Saturday, Nov. 29.
