TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team will travel to Costa Rica this summer for an eight-day cultural and educational tour that will include three games against international club teams.
First-year head coach Aubrey Shelton and his staff lead 14 returning student-athletes on the excursion, August 1-9.
"The Logger men's basketball team is incredibly excited to have the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica this August," said Shelton.
In addition to the games, Puget Sound will enjoy hikes, rafting, zip-lining, beaches, and set aside time for community service.
"The team is thrilled to have the opportunity to put on a kids basketball clinic and work with Special Olympics of Costa Rica," said Shelton. "This trip will provide quality team building and bonding experiences that will last a lifetime, and lay the foundation for a terrific 2018-19 season. It is our honor and privilege to not only represent the University of Puget Sound during our travels, but the United States as well."
The NCAA permits its member programs to compete internationally once every three years.
