TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound men's basketball senior Jimmy Wohrer was named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the first time this season, the NWC announced Monday. Wohrer was also named the Logger Club Logger of the Week Monday.
Wohrer led Puget Sound in scoring between a pair of Logger wins against Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). His buzzer-beating floater lifted the Loggers to a, 81-80 win against Chapman (Nov. 23). Wohrer netted 26 points against the Panthers.
The following day, Wohrer led the Loggers in scoring with 22 points as Puget Sound beat Whittier, 89-85.
So far this season, Wohrer is the Northwest Conference's second-leading scorer with 22.8 points per game. He is shooting 49.2 percent from the floor, and a ridiculous 57.9 percent from 3-point range.
Puget Sound begins its NWC schedule against Pacific Lutheran Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 8 p.m.
