TACOMA, Washington – Although four Loggers scored in double figures, the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost a non-conference game at Northwest, 86-76, Tuesday night.
Stellan Roberts netted a team-high 18 points, and Jimmy Wohrer finished with 14. Cal Hansen continues push for his first-career double-double, as the freshman scored 11 points to go along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Zion Shepherd matched Hansen's four blocks off the bench, and he tallied 10 points in 20 minutes.
The Loggers (3-4) suffered their largest rebound deficit of the season. The Eagles (9-5) came away with 44 boards, including 16 on the offensive glass. Puget Sound finished with half as many offensive rebounds, and 32 overall.
The Loggers trailed by only five points at halftime, and a 3-pointer by Wohrer gave Puget Sound a 70-68 lead with 7:33 on the clock in the second half. Northwest reclaimed the lead moments with a trey of their own, which sparked a decisive 12-2 run for Northwest.
Puget Sound has 10 days to regroup before traveling to Portland for a non-conference game at Warner Pacific, Dec. 14.
